The Gin Guild is delighted to congratulate Guild member and renowned Master Distiller, Joanne Moore, on being named Master Distiller of the Year 2026 at the  Icons of Drinks Awards, presented as part of the World Drinks Awards 2026.

The award recognises Joanne’s exceptional contribution to the spirits industry and comes as she celebrates 30 years with Quintessential Brands.

Widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in modern gin, Joanne has played a pivotal role in shaping the category over the past three decades. As the long-standing custodian of Greenall’s Gin, she has overseen one of Britain’s most historic gin brands while also creating a number of internationally acclaimed premium gins, including Opihr, Thomas Dakin, Berkeley Square and Bloom.

Among her many contributions to the industry, Joanne is also recognised as the creator of the Gin Wheel, a valuable educational tool that has helped professionals and consumers alike better understand the diverse flavour profiles found within the gin category.

Joanne said:

I’m truly honoured and overjoyed to have received this award earlier this week. Thanks to World Drinks Awards for the recognition and Quintessential Brands Group for the ongoing endorsement and support.

Commenting on the award, Quintessential Brands described the honour as a testament to Joanne’s innovation, creativity and dedication to the craft of distilling.

Joanne’s influence extends far beyond the brands she has created. Through her commitment to education, product development and the advancement of distilling excellence, she has helped elevate the reputation of gin around the world and inspired a generation of distillers.

The Gin Guild is also delighted that Joanne will be sharing her expert knowledge with delegates at Ginposium 2026, taking place on 12 June at RSA House in London. As one of the industry’s most respected distillers and innovators, her insights and experience promise to be a highlight of this year’s programme.

Everyone at the Gin Guild extends their warmest congratulations to Joanne on this well-deserved recognition and thanks her for her outstanding contribution to the gin industry.

Pal Gleed, Director General of The Gin Guild commented:

Joanne’s contribution to gin over the past three decades has been extraordinary. Her creativity, technical excellence and commitment to raising standards across the category have inspired distillers around the world and is an example to all.

On behalf of the Gin Guild, I am delighted to congratulate her on this thoroughly deserved recognition.”
