Prowine Mumbai opened its doors for its fourth edition in Mumbai on 8-9 November 2024 as a cornerstone event for international wines and spirits brands working towards entering India or already available in the country.

As the Indian market for premium spirits brands continues to grow (IWSR figures) this trade fair offers a comprehensive platform for professionals to network and open business opportunities.

East Side Distillery ran a stand where they showcased their portfolio of brands, among them:

Prowine Mumbai was split in 10 pavilions spanning across 7,000sq metres.

They estimate they had a good 500+ visitors come to our stand every day. Not a surprise, given that the organisers claim that there were more than 5,000 attendees during the entire show.

There were tastings and competitions both in morning and afternoon times.

India’s wine and spirits industry keeps growing, driven by an expanding middle class, rising disposable incomes and an increasing appreciation for premium offerings. Prowine Mumbai provides access to some of the companies helping foreign brands enter the Indian market.

Prowine Mumbai brought together more than 1,000 brands of spirits and wines, of which at least 30 were gins.

UK brand owners might be interested in learning that the UK’s Department for Business and Trade (DBT) offers logistical assistance to brands wishing to showcase. At Prowine Mumbai there was a section sponsored by the DBT, where about 10 UK spirits brands were showcasing, among them Brighton Gin and Isle of Barra Gin.

The DBT also can help international brands to export into the UK.
