Gin Guild member Sky Wave Distilling Company has published its first Charitable Support & Community Impact Report, highlighting the significant contribution the Oxfordshire-based distillery has made to charitable causes and community organisations since its founding.

Operating from its distillery at Bicester Motion, Sky Wave reports that it has supported more than 214 charitable initiatives and fundraising activities between 2019 and 2026, reflecting a long-term commitment to both local and national causes.

A key element of the company’s charitable programme is its partnership with The Rona Sailing Project, a Southampton-based sail training charity that provides inclusive sailing opportunities for people from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities.

Through its “Spirit of Adventure” initiative, Sky Wave donates from every bottle of Sky Wave Gin sold, helping to fund training and qualifications for volunteer crew members aboard the charity’s vessel, Lady Shona.

Alongside its national charitable partnerships, Sky Wave has maintained a strong focus on supporting organisations within its local Oxfordshire community.

Over the years, the distillery has evolved its fundraising approach, moving beyond product donations to offering distillery experiences and other auction prizes that help charities maximise fundraising income while introducing new audiences to the distillery.

The company’s support has extended across a broad range of sectors, including education, health and wellbeing, community heritage, emergency services and military charities.

Recent initiatives have included support for local schools and parent-teacher associations, fundraising efforts for Great Ormond Street Hospital, mental health organisations including CALM and Oxfordshire Mind, and community projects such as the campaign to preserve The Red Lion pub in Yarnton as a community-owned enterprise.

Commenting on the report, Sky Wave Co-Founder Rachel Hicks noted that the company has always sought to share its success with the local community and to develop charitable partnerships that create meaningful value for both organisations and beneficiaries.

The report demonstrates how an independent distillery can play an active role within its community, using its platform, products and experiences to support charitable causes while building long-term relationships with local organisations.

The Gin Guild congratulates Sky Wave Distilling Company on its continued commitment to charitable giving and community engagement.
